5 TIPS TO CURE CHAPPED & DRY LIPS
The skin on the lips is much thinner and more delicate than that on other parts of the body. The lips are also exposed to the elements, including the sun and cold, dry air, making them prone to dryness and cracking.
Here are some of our tips!
Don’t lick your lips
This common practice is quite harmful to your lips as when you put saliva on the lips, it dries out and makes our lips even drier.
Use Argan Oil
Applying Argan oil directly on the lips is the simplest yet the most efficient way to cure dry lips. Gently massage one to two drops of Argan oil into your lips, and do so once before going to bed as well as in the morning. You'll see a great improvement almost instantly.
Try lip scrub
Our lips are not protected by hair or sebaceous glands (oil glands), so they start to chap, therefore weekly exfoliation is a must (at least once a week).
Lip scrub works great to gently exfoliate dry lips. For a homemade lip scrub check our Instagram reel.
Drink plenty of water
When your insides are hydrated, your outsides will be, too. It is recommended to drink additional fluids during the winter months because the cold air tends to zap the moisture right out of your skin and lips.
Look for lip products that moisturize and hydrate
The right ingredients can protect your lips and prevent dry and chapped skin. As you search for lipstick, lip gloss, and lip balm try to find products that are vegan, cruelty-free, paraben, and fragrance-free. Also, it is better if they’re loaded with argan oil and shea butter to moisturize.
